When I was little I looked up to my brother a lot. He’s 8 years older than me and knew so much about science! He taught me about genetics when I was about 10 – awesome.

Nowadays I find inspiration whenever I talk to other scientists. Everyone has great ideas and a lot of passion for making those ideas work. Sometimes the best thing is not when they talk about their own work, but when they ask questions about mine! I always think, ‘Oh, why didn’t I think about that?’ and that makes me work harder and think faster!

More experienced scientists in the lab – they talk about the science they are doing and inspire me and help me with my science.

Hi jemjems- I look up to some of the people I work with, and some of the scientists who are around the world today working in similar areas to me- wow, they are clever!

Yes, other people working on related subjects, or working on other things in an interesting way! If you go to a conference or meeting with lots of other scientists you can always get a lot of inspiration for your own work.
