I’m technically Buddhist, so…the gods that I think about are different from the Christian God! But either way I don’t think we can ever find out for sure if there is a God (or gods), and whether or not this God made the world. So I don’t choose to believe either way – I’ll just say ‘we don’t know yet’. If I had to say which one I preferred – I think I’d like the big bang to be true! It’s a more exciting story than a big guy in the sky waving his hands and having everything appear by magic…
I believe in God and I believe that God made the world using the Big Bang – so God was ultimately in control.
Science can’t prove that God exists but it can’t disprove His existence. The reason I believe in a God is because I look at the world around me and there are certain things, like what happened before the big bang and the purpose of life, that can’t be explained without a God. In fact all of science actually points to the fact that there is a God and how amazingly He made the world and us!
Hi maurikaphylecia (cool name)- I’m still struggling with this one! I had a christian upbringing, but in my adult life have seen little to make me believe strongly in God. I work with many people that do, many that don’t, and I have listened to both points of view.
If there was a God, I don’t see why he would have created the earth so that just humans could worship him, but this kind of seems to be the case- and even then not everyone does, do they?
The idea of the big bang is one that I can easily believe in- but I wonder what happened to cause it?
