Haha…you’re making me feel guilty! Back when I was in school I didn’t care either way about whether I became a scientist or not, I was busy doing other stuff like debate and the school newspaper which were way more fun (or so I thought at the time!). But my parents were really strict, and when I had exams they made sure I studied hard enough to get a good mark, even if I hadn’t been in class. So when I did GCSEs and A-Levels I got a good enough mark that I had a choice whether I wanted to study science at university or not. Then I realised that I would rather be a scientist after all – so it’s lucky that I studied for those exams!
