You probably know better than me, the last time I studied this was at school! Lots of things which astronomers can see (none of which I understand) as explained better by the big bang theory than any other theory, and it is very well accepted amongst the people who know most about it.

Sorry, that’s the best I can do!

Yep: cosmic background radiation (the afterglow of the big bang) and galaxy ripples (tiny ripples in the cosmic background radiation caused by the huge explosion and these ripples gather matter to make galaxies). You can read more here: http://www.schoolsobservatory.org.uk/astro/cosmos/bb_evid.

But neither of that deny that there is a God because it doesn’t answer the question of who or what caused the it to begin. The Biblical theory of someone called “God” creating something called “the universe” from nothing is consistent with the big bang theory, but it does not rely on the Big bang theory to be true.

      I can’t add to that!

Physicists measure Cosmic microwave background radiation, and see it as evidence of the big bang, when this radiation was created.

They also measure ‘red shift’, which is to do with the way in which we are able to record light given out by stars. As this changes, it provides evidence that the universe is still expanding after a ‘big bang’
