I actually can’t think of anything I’ve done that was particularly dangerous! Especially in the lab, where there are lots of rules to make sure you’re safe. I live quite a tame life, sorry…
What I’ve done is I’ve gone walking, alone, in downtown Los Angeles. It sounds like a perfectly normal thing to do – which is what I thought too – until I got back and told the people in my lab about it, and watched as everyone’s jaws dropped! Then I learned that it’s awfully common to get robbed (or worse) in the dodgier parts of LA, and generally people avoid walking altogether (everyone drives), especially not alone, and especially if you’re a girl! I got out of it without any trouble, but I was lucky I think…
Another thing I did which could have been very dangerous was to try and shoot an arrow from a bow that wasn’t set up properly. The bow came apart when I was pulling the string back, and I was lucky not to get hurt, because the bow could very well have just snapped and taken out an eye or two!
